Lower East

it’s the blog

This is the blog for lower east & lower east lab. A mix of stuff from our design & communication world (things we do, things we have done, and things we experience and get inspired from) and news from our lab – where all kind of actions and experiments can happen – that be workshops, creative meetings, urban safaris (with focus on start up, architecture, design or food), and exhibitions, events, dinners and a lot more.

Architectural Utopia Reloaded

January 2, 2015

“Design and architecture became exuberant, colourful, sexy, light-hearted and fluent“.
Lower East just had to check out this very, very interesting and inspiring exhibition at the Haus am Waldsee in Berlin today!

HAUS-RUCKER-CO
 – ARCHITECTURAL UTOPIA RELOADED
“The late 1960s witnessed an extraordinary sense of awakening and optimism. In the wake of the first space programmes an unshakeable faith took root in progress towards an ever-improving future. Design and architecture became exuberant, colourful, sexy, light-hearted and fluent. Haus-Rucker-Co, as a collective of architects and artists, developed a new concept of architecture for radically altered life-forms. Their interactive “Mind-Expander” and pneumatic architectures caused quite a stir on the international scene.“ (from the Haus am Waldsee info).

Exhibition runs until February 22. 2015.
