Lower East designed the catalogue for Olafur Eliasson’s exhibition “Triangular sky and Lava Floor” at the art museum Kunsten in Aalborg, Denmark. The work “Triangular Sky”– created specially for the museum’s sculpture park – is a construction of three mirrors. You walk ‘into’ the piece and are in a universe of multiplied reflections of the surroundings. You can’t really tell what’s real and what’s a reflection. Inspired by that, we decided to design the catalogue in a huge format, so you get a simular feeling of being inside Olafur’s work.
Olafur Eliasson’s work “The triangular sky”, will stay permanently in the museum’s sculpture park. In the period of the exhibition guests could experience two other Eliasson works at the museum: “Lava floor”; Icelandic lava stones, all over the gallery floor – and “Jokla Series”. The very fine photos in the catalogue was taken by Anders Sune Berg.
Kunsten has been through a huge rebuilding and extension of the beautiful Aalto building from 1972 and will reopen 23. January 2016. Congratulations to Kunsten. Read more about the opening at the Museum website.
